Nicholas Walter - Assistant Group Leader
Nicholas Walter was born in Lima, Ohio (between Dayton and Toledo). Nicholas lost his hearing when he was 14 months old due to high fever. All of his family are hearing except Nicholas and his brother. He attended Kennedy School for the Deaf in Dayton, OH (sign language were prohibited until 1970). He later went to St. Rita School for the Deaf in Cincinnati, OH, where they allowed to use sign language. He graduated in 1981 and then went to RIT/NTID (Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY) from 1982 to 1985, where he majored in Architecture. He was a former president of NTID Catholic Group while in college. He was also a past president of NWJAD for one year in New Jersey. Now living in Ohio, he is currently working for a deaf-blind person (for assistance). He spend his time at PTA at his children's school and help out with the church's office. His favorite television show is Star Trek. He loves to travel and enjoys helping people. As an assistant group leader, he will help Gina Davis (Great Deaf Vacations Owner) with travel assignments, from marketing to assist a group on the cruise.
