Title: Travel ASL Interpreter

Description:
Great Deaf Vacations is expanding their cruises and tour/land vacations. As a result, we are seeking ASL Interpreters to provide American Sign Language for our clients. This is a part-time position only.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively interpret between ASL (American Sign Language) and spoken English.
Main, as applicable, compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements.
Demonstrate full compliance with Great Deaf Vacations standards & policies, customer service guidelines, and attendance policy.
Accurately complete assigned tasks and duties promptly.
Must have a flexible schedule to participate our cruise and tour schedule.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrate willingness and ability to interpret additional duties and assignments.
Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Three and more years working as a certified sign language interpreter
*NAD level IV/V, or RID CI, CT, CI/CT, CSC, or NIC, NIC Advanced, NIC Master, or hold a state interpreter certificate at the Intermediate or Master Certificate skill levels.
*Past cruise experience a must.
*Must pass pre-employment screening (background check, drug screening, VP and in-person ASL skill screening)
*Must live in North Carolina or Florida area.
Physical Demands:
*Must be in excellent physical condition; prepared for strenuous activities in order to participate with our group for various shore excursions.
*Interpret in ASL and spoken English for extended periods of time.
*Ability to walk long period of time inside and outside of the ship and tours.
Work Schedule:
*Schedule is to be determines.
Compensation:
*Fully paid cruise and/or tour package, including hotel, transportation, meals.
*Travel insurance
*Shore excursion activities
*Spending money
*Company's shirt

Great Deaf Vacations is expanding their cruises and tour/land vacations. As a result, we are currently recruiting candidates to join our team of Travel Sales Agents. This is the independent contract position only.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Add clients of Great Deaf Vacations by offering a variety of travel events to customers, in addition to offering new cruise and/or tour events to customers.
*Participate at your local deaf events and inform deaf people about our events.
*Must have an ability to use social tools (Facebook, Twitter, forums)
*Knowledge of American Sign Language is a must.
*Ability to use VP to communicate with clients, computer, and general Words software for client tracking record.
*Ability to find clients and encourages them to book with us.
*Travel experience is preferred but not required. Applicants with a passion for travel themselves will be considered as will those with a strong desire to succeed with background in sales and social media skill.
*Candidates should have a proven track record of success using the VP and deaf social events as the main tool of engagement, be a self-starter, motivated by achieving sales targets and the financial rewards this brings.
*Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with customers on VP/face-to-face is required.
Work Schedule:
*You chose your own hour.
Compensation:
$20 or more/per client booked and sailed/vacationed with Great Deaf Vacations

All expense paid cruise or tour depending on cruise lines and number of clients booked in group required.
